Timely Intervention at Johane Marange Shrine

In a significant development, Prevail International, under the auspices of the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme, has drilled a borehole at the Johane Marange Apostolic Church International Headquarters. This intervention came just in time for the church's annual gathering, addressing a longstanding water challenge that had plagued the shrine.

Zvanetsa Muchuchu, a representative of the shrine, expressed profound gratitude for the timely intervention. "We are grateful that our cries were finally heard, water has been a very big challenge as we host the biggest gathering every year in September. The gathering attracts more than ten thousand people from all over Zimbabwe and even Botswana, hence water is a need and we are happy Prevail International saw fit to drill a borehole here," Muchuchu said.

The newly drilled borehole is expected to have both immediate and long-term benefits for the shrine and its community. During the annual gathering, the borehole will ensure that the thousands of pilgrims have access to clean water, alleviating the historical water shortages that have hampered the event.

Beyond the immediate relief, the borehole will also enhance the shrine's agricultural activities. Shadreck Mbiri, a long-time employee of the shrine, highlighted the significance of this development. "The borehole will not only alleviate the water crisis but also enable the shrine to enhance its agricultural activities through irrigation. The church looks after orphans and widows and we want to do agriculture to sustain us hence the borehole will enable us to do so."

We are also responding to President Mnangagwa's call of leaving no one and no place behind," he said.

The government's long-term vision includes the completion of major dam projects like the Gwayi-Shangani Dam and the Kunzvi Dam, which will supply extra water to Bulawayo and Harare. Until these projects are completed, the borehole drilling scheme serves as a critical short-term solution to the country's water challenges.
